27. Demonstration

19/07/2012

Woodwork ace Theo is a big buddy of Dudley Pattison, proprietor of Aircraft Plywood and Timber, since he’s been buying so much stuff from Dudley. And because Dudley is a real enthusiast who’s been a huge help. And because he’s a really nice guy!

Anyway, the Light Aircraft Association (LAA) under whose auspices the Scout will be cleared to fly has its annual Fly-In and Rally at Sywell Aerodrome on 31 Aug – 2 Sep, and one of the central features of the LAA tent is the homebuilder’s centre, which tries to explain the huge satisfaction to be had in building your own aircraft.

Well, Dudley has been asked to organise the display and asked Theo if we’d be prepared to bring along a couple of parts of the Scout for the display. Theo thought it sounded a good idea, and so we’ll be going public for the first time.

Theo’s suggested that we bring along the completed rudder and wing centre section, which sounds an excellent idea. Each part is small, easily transported, and demonstrates a good variety of homebuilding techniques.

Theo or I will be there, and if you want to come and have a word, we’d be delighted to meet you.
